TAXES – AN INCOME TAX AND A VALUE ADDED TAX
Taxes, the income tax and the value added tax in particular, affect the lives of all artists. Taxation tends to be very complicated, and the processes associated with the payment of taxes are also rather strict. The European Union has certain powers in the area of value added tax, but the exact setup of taxation systems is largely defined by individual countries. Tax systems are also coordinated by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), mostly with the aim to prevent tax base erosion and profit shifting.
