The citizens of the Slovak Republic are subject to the same conditions as citizens of other EU countries. The procedure is nevertheless simpler, as none of Slovak documents has to be translated into Czech.

Citizens of the Czech Republic may stay in the territory of the Slovak Republic without a residence permit for up to three months. If the stay is longer, it is necessary to submit an application for a registration of the stay by filling in a form personally at a police department within 30 days from the expiration of three months from the date of entry into the Slovak Republic. The police department will issue a certificate of registration to the Czech citizen. It is also possible to apply for a residence card (EU citizen’s residence card), which will be valid for five years.
